The Annual AUTC pub crawl is being held on the 18th of May! Shirts will be $25, and can be purchased from the University Sport Website. Make sure you get in early as the deadline for purchases is this Friday the 10th!

This year's theme will be "A Good Day to Try Hard", submitted by Scott! For his efforts, Scott wins a free pub crawl shirt!

If you haven't done so already, head on over to our Facebook page where you'll find an event for the pub crawl. Once we nail down venues we'll post them there, as well as in the newsletter next week.

Southern Uni Games

The first SUG training session was a great success! There is one more training session before teams are selected, so be sure to attend if you're interested - team selection is based partly upon participation in training. For those who didn't attend last week, training sessions are at 5:30pm on Fridays on park 12.

If you are interested in SUG but can't make training at the moment, you can still nominate! Head on over to the AUTC website and fill out our nomination form.

Playing Shirts

Playing shirts are here! If you have purchased a shirt you can make arrangements with your coach to pick it up at your game. If you haven't purchased a shirt, what are you waiting for? They're heavily subsidized at $25, and can be purchased from the University Sports website via this link. If you have organised for a custom shirt name but have not yet paid you'll have to do so before you can pick it up.

CORRECTION: Last week we said that AUTC will enter mixed teams in the Wednesday and Thursday competitions at City Touch. This was an error; we'll only be competing in the Thursday mixed comp.

For those who are playing winter, you can sign up via the following links:

Single Sex
Southern Uni Games Players

Winter season is a bit more serious than Autumn, with 40 minute games of 6 a side. That said, players of all skill levels are welcome. If you didn't sign up for Autumn and are regretting it, don't miss out on Winter!

Pub Crawl

This year's AUTC pub crawl will be held on the 18th of May. The pub crawl is bound to be a great night out, and will see the return of the leader's shirt as well as challenges for each venue.

We are still accepting submissions for the t-shirt slogan through this form, if we pick your slogan you'll bag yourself a free shirt! Last year's slogan was "will you be my ruck buddy?"

Shirt pricing, venues and specials are being worked on and will be announced in the coming weeks. If you've got any preferences for venues, let us know!

Have you ever wanted to show your support for AUTC off the field? We are considering selling AUTC merchandise (jackets etc), and would love to hear your thoughts. Simply fill out this form. Once we have enough feedback we'll make our next move.

AUTC Newsletter 10 April 2013

Thanks to everyone for making the first week of Autumn a success. Keep reading to find out about the results of last week's game, the Uni Games BBQ, our latest training session and more!

Autumn Week 1

Congratulations to all who played Autumn! It looks like it's shaping up to be a great season, with some fantastic results already.

The autumn season started out well for AUTC Dhole with a 3-1 win. They demonstrated strong rucking skills and worked well as a team on the line. The second game was more of a challenge with a reversed score line of 1-3 but they held up well against some experienced opposition. Great work gang!

AUTC Elephants also did extremely well with 3 wins.  All of the girls really got into the games and all the players were not shy, this encouraged the whole team to work together. It's looking like a great start to the season.

Remember, if you want to check your game times and the ladder, head on over to the sporting pulse website.

Uni Games Fundraising

The first fundraising event for AUTC touch team for Uni games was a success!! The BBQ held on Tuesday raised a $401.60!!!

A huge thank you to everyone who helped out! Many AUTC student members manned the BBQ and helped to provide general support and entertainment. Many thanks to Matt Varvounis, Brendan Whennan, Harriet Berman, Sarah Bernard, Aidan Kennedy, Jemma Naumann And last but not the least the magnificent Kathleen Wright for the organisation of it all! Also a special mention to Ryan Causby for dropping by to partake in the eating of sausages!

Without the hard work of these wonderful people the BBQ would not have been quite dull! Bring on Uni Games!!!
