What do I get for my money?
Organization - The coaches and committee are volunteers, who put a lot of time into running the club, doing things like selecting and organising teams, organising training and trial matches, answering e-mails, paying bills and trying to give everyone the best experience with AUTC possible. A volunteer committee runs the income-earning Waite Summer competition. Their hard work saves all club members money.
Coaching - As you have seen at training, we have quite a few enthusiastic coaches who have put their hands up to help coach other club members. These volunteer coaches put many hours into training and planning and try to do their best to improve the playing ability of all players.
Other club members - If you played in your own social team, you would not meet so many new people. Many people form rewarding and lasting relationships, friendships and contacts through playing Touch with AUTC.
Social events - The committee aims to have a busy social calendar. Where possible, we try to put your membership fees back into subsidising team fees or social events.
Player pathways - We have teams for all level of abilities. As your Touch ability improves, you will be able to play in a team that fits your ability. This is hard to do outside of a club. As a player with AUTC, you are eligible to play for the Eastern Stingrays team, which competes in the Touch SA State League. Our higher-level teams offer a good stepping-stone towards playing in the State League and potentially the State team and from there, the National Touch League and maybe even Australia.
Technical Support - If you are an aspiring Coach, Referee or Selector, the club will support you to undertake courses. More experienced members of the club will provide you with mentoring and support in these areas. AUTC has always prided itself on developing and supporting people in the technical areas of Touch.
