Men's A Grade
AUTC Lions finished off their stellar season with a commanding 8-3 victory over the Assasins. Several players were away with Uni Games, holidays and injury, resulting in the Lions having a couple of last minute call ups. From the outset the side was pretty much in control taking a 4-0 lead into half time. Scoring threats were being created all over the field with particularly dominant performances from DJ, Ninh and Steele. The second half was not as clean letting in a couple of soft touchdowns, but by then the job was done and the Lions had taken out a much deserved Premiership (even if we do say so ourselves).
Congratulations to DJ winning the team MVP, Ninh best team player and Owen for winning most improved. Well done to the entire team on taking out the best Club team over the past twelve months, the challenge ahead for the players is to make sure they concentrate on their basics, avoid getting into bad habits against the weaker sides and continue having fun.

Mixed Thursday I Grade
Wildcats (6) v The Griffins (5)
On Thursday night the AUTC Wildcats narrowly defeated The Griffins in an exciting and high-quality Winter Mixed I Grade Grand Final. The Wildcats were on a roll following their 6 - 0 annihilation of the Blue Steel in the previous week's semi-final, and started the first half strongly with a 2-0 lead in the first 10 minutes.
Following this the team decided to take a snooze losing all focus to draw the first half 3-3. The Wildcats fired up again in the second half and took advantage of a severe tactical error on The Griffins part with team members yelling from the sidelines to "attack the young fellow - he'll be gettting tired".
Tob Owens (the young fellow in question, and unofficially crowned man of the match by this reviewer) was superb in defence and punished the opposition in attack in the second half both scoring and setting up a number of team plays .
The Wildcats secured a 6-5 victory in a nail-biting finish to what was a fantastic team effort. Notably, the six touchdowns were shared between five team members with most resulting from excellent teamwork rather than individual brilliance - an absolute joy to watch.
Congratulations to the Wildcats!
