AUTC Orcas (6) v Off the Leash (5)

In a steady performance, the Orcas managed to secure victory over Off The Leash. With several male players absent, some of the guys struggled to maintain concentration and effort throughout the game. Off The Leash as per usual maintained possession and pressured the Orcas whose organisation in defence was sometimes lacking. The attack of the Orcas lacked consistency but was potent enough to secure victory.

AUTC Pelicans (3) v Stoneys (10)

The Pelicans came up against a very well organised and experienced side in the Stoneys last week, going down 3-10. The team was outplayed in the first half with the score line reading 0-5; struggling to get the ball up the field and lacking talk in defence. The team improved a lot in the second half; tightening their defence and finding structure to their offensive efforts to produce 3 tries, fulfilling the team’s aim to keep the opposition to 5 or less tries and scoring themselves. With the improvement shown in the first two weeks, if this game was played at the end season with a full strength side the score line would’ve been a lot different. A very good effort from the team; starting with only 5 on the field and only 7 players from the team available to play.

Best players: Gilby, Chris, Chantal and Leah.

Try Scorers: Ash, Maddie and Siohban
