Hatchbacks a little awesome against 'Just Awsomeness!'

In the A-grade mixed on thursday last, the AUTC Hatchbacks defeated the other undefeated team 'Just Awesomeness!' 8-6. A cracker game was played between the two teams, demonstraing to the huge crowd of 11 that mixed touch in this state can be pretty good at times.  Good sportsmanship, combined with a little bit of spite ensured that all players were emotionally invoved in trying to win. 8 touchdowns is a pretty good score-line. And the team generated some excellent team trys. Fast passing accross the field while hitting the right gaps featured for brief passages of play.From AUTC point of view, some groan-worthy 'chase-in' defense in the middle of the field and on the wing ensured that the opposition could score some too easy touchdowns. But that should not take away from some classy and inspired play by the opposition boys linking up with their girls demonstrating that they could score good touch downs too. It was a pretty good win against a very good team. I look forward to the rivalry between us and them all year.
